MY FUTURE ECOTIPPING POINT STORY
Food is an essential part of our life. Among all human activities, eating undoubtedly has the greatest effect on health. After breathing, eating is what we do most frequently during a lifetime. Whatsoever that can be regarded as food today is a product of agriculture.
Myanmar, my country, is an agricultural country with rice as the principal crop. It used to be the world's biggest rice exporter and have a long tradition of preparing food in their own way and the people enjoy rice as their own way and the history of traditional food may be as old as the culture and art of its people in the past but now start leading in the wrong direction. Farmers start to use the chemicals, pesticides and people start to eat ready-made food, fast-food, and junk food which contain a lot of chemicals, fat that can get rid of our health and sustainable life style.
My future dream is to give awareness and educate people so that they can live a long life in the future by knowing how important the safety food which is the organic food. Organic food is produced by farmers who emphasize the use of renewable resources and the conservation of soil and water to enhance environmental quality for future generations.
To achieve my goal, I learnt about the techniques like aquaponics, farm roof, pros and cons of the organic and non-organic farms. As a result, I can share and educate people to make a positive change in my community as the first step. For the next step, my invisible goal is to make people to love the nature, environment and start to grow green for our earth. Grow some flowers, fruits and foods which can lead us the sustainable life style and eventually to the green world.
How can I achieve it?

§ Outside stimulation and facilitation. A success story typically begins when people or information from outside a community stimulate a shared awareness about a problem (i.e., how the situation is changing and what seems to be responsible) and provide fresh ideas for possible actions to deal with it. So, I'll start give awareness about how dangerous the chemicals, non-organic food are and at the same time and what we can do for it that is leading to the substainable organic farm by sharing the techniques and strategies what we had learnt in SUSI.
§ Strong local institutions and enduring commitment of local leadership. Instead of top-down regulation or elaborate development plans with unrealistic goals, we see success where there is genuine community participation, the community moving forward with its own decisions, manpower, and financial resources, while generating a sense of individual and group ownership for the achievements. Leaders who keep the restoration process on track are the “glue” in the stories. So, down-top system and I don't wait expert to solve the problem. Start from me , do as much as I can and expand my network as much as possible.
§ Co-adaption between social system and ecosystem. The restoration that we see in success stories occurs when human society and the environment fit and function together as a healthy and sustainable whole. At the core is a “social commons” that is explicitly tailored to managing a community’s social and environmental capital. People need substainable environment, healthy life style and it's directly address to the organic food. We need to give awareness of the connection between social system ecosystem so that they can know the importance of the environment.
§ “Transforming waste into resources. What appears to be “waste”—such as degraded land, abandoned buildings, garbage, sewage, or marginalized people—is mobilized and transformed into valued social or material capital. We can use this green waste in the organic farm and can save the earth.
§ A powerful symbol. A respected leader or champion for a cause, a site or landmark sacred to the community, or a compelling idea becomes a symbol for the entire effort, consolidating community commitment and mobilizing community action. How many people are dying in the world because of the unhealthy food? The site which make people shock and it will be effective to use the media to mobilize the community.
§ Social and ecological diversity. Greater diversity provides more choices and opportunities, and therefore better prospects that some of the choices will be effective for reaching desired outcomes. My vision is the people can live longer and the earth can green ever. Instead of doing in our own community, I need to open my eyes and cooperate with other networks to find the outcomes more effectively by challenging new different things.
